Nancy Guilmette a étudié en arts visuels à l’Université du Québec à Montréal.

Sa pratique est ancrée dans la conscience d’un environnement vert et durable, œuvrant d’abord comme designer dans la rénovation et conception d’appartements et de restaurants, dont le célèbre Au Pied de Cochon à Montréal.
Au printemps 2019, elle se remet à la pratique artistique et présente à la galerie Corridor de Lambert et fils, puis au Cinéma Moderne, et enfin dans un garage désaffecté du Mile End, une exposition éphémère, Jardin de passage, explorant les liens intimes entre l’art, le design architectural et la nature.
Depuis, l’artiste commence une série de performances, Chambre 102 et 202, en installant et prenant soin d’un jardin urbain luxuriant éclairé dans des lieux abandonnés et inaccessibles de la ville, mettant en valeur les qualités architecturales de ces lieux en transition par la vivacité de la nature.

En 2023, elle réalise un court métrage « chambre 102 » sélectionné au Festival International du film sur l'Art et au Festival Internationale du court métrage de Rome.

Ce court métrage a également été sélectionné au Festival International du court métrage de Tokyo pour l’année 2024.
Nancy Guilmette studied visual arts at the Université du Québec in Montréal.

Her practice is rooted in an awareness of a green and sustainable environment, working first as a designer in the renovation and design of apartments and restaurants, including the famous Au Pied de Cochon in Montreal.
In spring 2019, she returned to her artistic practice, presenting an ephemeral exhibition, Jardin de passage, exploring the intimate links between art, architectural design and nature, at the Corridor gallery of Lambert et fils, then at the Cinéma Moderne, and finally in a disused garage in Mile End.
Since then, the artist has begun a series of performances, Chambre 102 and 202, installing and caring for a lush, illuminated urban garden in abandoned and inaccessible parts of the city, highlighting the architectural qualities of these places in transition through the vivacity of nature.

In 2023, she directed a short film, "Chambre 102", selected for the International Festival of Films on Art and the Rome International Short Film Festival.
​
This short was also selected for the Tokyo International Short Film Festival in 2024.
