Plongez au coeur du Vieux-Montréal et pénétrez dans la chambre 102. Au cœur des débris encore chauds de l’intérieur du National Trust et futur Hôtel SonoLux, l’artiste Nancy Guilmette a transformé ce lieu endormi en un espace de retour à la vie. Dans une oeuvre performative in situ, l’artiste nous plonge dans cette dualité caractérisée par une architecture froide véhiculée par le béton et la vivacité de cette nature croissante. Le temps reste en suspens tandis que nous nous interrogeons sur la place de la nature, du vivant.
In the heart of Old Montreal stand the ruins of the historic National Trust building. Behind the façade of World-war-II-era structure, dust from almost century-old debris swirls slowly in winter light. With support from the future hotel/artspace project SonoLux, artist Nancy Guilmette has created a site-specific installation, transforming the structure into a space where new life occurs. In room 102 of the building, an immaculate white bed has been placed, creating a startling juxtaposition between cold concrete architecture and the erupting vivacity of nature.
